Read - forgotten book
I mainly did pottering today, as planned - but pottering turned into major de-cluttering (long overdue) during which I unearthed a half read biography / autobiography of John Peel. It's unusual as he was writing it when he died, so the first part is all his own voice, and the second (which I've just started) is written by his wife Sheila, with quotes from his diary.
I'm just over halfway through it, and I think I'm enjoying the second part more - I found the first part hard going, which is probably why it ended up under a stack of other books on my bedside table.

Craft - nearly a blanket
I am very excited as I have nearly finished my first blanket. This is the second one I've started - the other is still very much a work in progress. But this - my 'travel' project which I started last year to give me something to do on holiday, is very very near completion.
Just a few more rows of the border, then a light steam, and it's done. I will attempt to take some artfully styled photos once it's finished. And give full details of what I did (if I can remember).

Craft - nearly finished
I managed to work on my cushion cover today. The front was crocheted last spring, then it took ages to find a suitable jumper to back it, then it was getting close to Christmas so it got put into a bag (like lots of other works in progress) and forgotten about. Now my sewing machine is set up I have space for crafting, and today I had the time to get on with putting it all together, in between a mammoth food shop (the checkout operator asked if I was doing a monthly shop - no, just a week), general family stuff and running.
I've made good progress, all constructed and only 3 buttons left to sew on, but once again my bed calls so I'll finish it off another day. The end is definitely in sight though.

Craft - a bit of progress
It's late and I haven't really planned what to write about today. I haven't run as it's a (well earned) rest day. I've barely cooked (only to the point of shoving a few things on a tray, sticking them in the oven then dishing up 20 minutes later) and I haven't read (yet - hopefully I will get a chance to shortly). I have spent rather a lot of time sorting out different electronic devices to try and keep everyone happy. And I discovered that I have made some progress on my 'other' blanket.
This is my current portable project - it can be done in small chunks by the side of a pool or in a car when waiting for an activity to finish. I laid it out for the first time in ages and found that I've now made over half the squares. It feels a lot more achievable now - hurrah!
(I do know that the photo is dark and the colours wrong - I need to make an effort to take more photographs in natural light).

Craft - in progress
Today I had a spare couple of hours so I thought I'd get on with some gentle crafting. This turned into emptying out many bags of half-finished projects, trying to work out exactly how many things I have on the go at the moment.
"Too many" is the answer.
Currently started or half made are:
2 blankets
1 cushion cover
4 hot water bottle covers
1 top
1 banner
2 blinds
6 covered files
3 placemats
And that doesn't include 12 projects I have planned (= sourced all the materials for) but not yet started, or the wishlist of 6 new techniques I'd really like to try. I think I need to get a grip - maybe I could concentrate on one project a month and actually finish some things this year ...
